Educational Program

The Communications Directorate of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, in a genuine desire to guide students in public and private schools in the country and the community in general, established the EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM since 1988.

This program offers two lectures illustrated by audiovisual resources. The lectures provide guidance on the following topics:

Drinking Water

Conference Objectives

History overview of PRASA and its services.
Identify the sources of water supply.
Define the concepts: groundwater and surface water.
Learn about the water filtration process.
Raise awareness of the importance of water and promote its conservation.
Incite a sense of trust in the drinking water service.

Sanitary Sewer

Conference Objectives

History overview of PRASA and its services.
Concepts definition: Sanitary and rainwater sewage and waste water.
Learn about the water treatment process.
Identify and recognize the contaminants that affect the water treatment process.
Raise awareness about the prevention and management of environmental control.
Promote a sense of public responsibility regarding the importance of system conservation, infrastructure, water quality, and the environment in general.
