One of the main objectives of the Oil and Grease Control Program is to educate establishments that handle grease and oils about the new Program requirements to prevent them from contributing to the accumulation of fats and oils in the PRASA sewer system. To achieve this objective, during inspections, establishments are educated and guided on the following:
From each inspection carried out, a report is generated for the establishment to implement corrective measures according to the findings discovered. In addition, educational brochures are provided about the program, good management practices, oil and grease control equipment, record maintenance, and others.
If you handle oils and greases through your pipes, they end up in the sewer system.
PRASA will monitor, through inspections, compliance with the requirements established in the Water and Sewer Services Regulations.
Notifications of non-compliance, administrative penalties, and any legal action that corresponds to the law, in accordance with the PRASA Enforcement Response Plan (ERP), will be issued to any establishment that does not comply with its obligation.
